About Us

 

The purpose of Sigma Kappa is to provide women lifelong opportunities and support for social, intellectual, and spiritual development by bringing women together to positively impact our communities.

 

Sigma Kappa Sorority was founded November 9, 1874 at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. We currently have over 156,000 members. We have over 110 collegiate chapters and colonies and more than 120 alumnae chapters.

We attend many different volunteering venues with the above as our main interest.  Every year, Sigma Kappa donates its time to the Memory Walk in the fall.  Also, in both spring and fall semesters, we participate in Highway Clean-up.  Some other favorites of the chapter's favorite activities include going to soup kitchens, Care and Share, Ronald McDonald House, and many others!
