In Summer 2010, two of the ladies from our chapter were invited to Sigma Kappa's National Convention. Our president, Megan Shirley, and our Vice President of Alumnae, Kim Magers, represented the Zeta Pi Chapter! Here is what Megan brought back...
"Sigma Kappa held their 84th National Convention this summer in Orlando, Florida. Over 600 Sigma Kappa Collegiate, Alumnae, and Officers attended the "Magic of Service" week. Zeta Pi sent two officers to learn valuable team building, sisterhood, and leadership tips. Each day was composed of numerous educational workshops for our members to attend and gather valuable skills. The girls met Sigma Kappa sister's from all over the country and enjoyed learning about the diversity of women our Sorority has to offer! Disney World was also invaded by 400 girls dressed in letters and ready to enjoy one of the largest sisterhood events ever! Guest speakers taught the attendees how to always put our best foot forward and make a great difference in the world. Through large banquets Sigma Kappa members were encouraged to give their services to others and help make our communities shine! Our sorority clearly took this to heart, during the Convention a donation competition was held and in five days over $150,000 was raised! At the end of the convention all chapters were awarded for their contributions to our sorority, to the sisterhood and to our schools. Way to go Sigma Kappa Ladies!
We cannot wait to attend the next convention in 2012 and see what it has in store!!"
